Business communication middleware

From our experience in developing digital e-commerce ecosystems, we detected the need to develop an intelligent platform that connects brands, distributors and online exhibitors in a unique yet standardised way. Under this idea, YourEcom was born, a digital ecosystem that facilitates the digital sales process, promoting the competitiveness of all e-commerce against digital market giants like Amazon and Ebay. This is the idea behind the first approach we sketched out for YourEcom, a machine-to-machine communication middleware that abstracts from systems and applications.

In addition to providing almost immediate connectivity, we remain true to our values as a company by fostering the development of digital ecosystems and different forms of picking data, providing cross-referenced information as well as enabling the automated, real-time management of different aspects, such as stock taking and invoicing. As the icing on this cake, we promote the use of learning technologies through a recommendation engine based on deep learning techniques.

Our ambition with YourEcom is to change the current e-commerce paradigm, enabling protocol-independent communication and allowing the automation of processes that until now were unfeasible, such as the connection of stock, ensuring the incorporation of products from various brands with all available information generated by different warehouses. This provides an analytical solution that offers recommendations and enhances the competitive processes and mechanisms of each online shop.

The development of the YOURECOM project will mark a before and after in the e-commerce sector due to its disruptive and innovative nature, as it proposes an n to n scenario. That’s to say, n brands, n virtual stores, and n online shops, providing a whole range of automations and functions including reporting, control and invoicing.

The unification of communications is a major barrier to the development of this project. In today’s environment, each brand and online merchant works with the IT platform that best suits their needs. This can be a custom-made development in a language such as PHP, or through one of the dedicated CMS/Framework platforms such as Prestashop or Magento, for example.

Applying technological knowledge to provide solutions

To solve this problem, we generate the interconnection layer: an intermediate platform that can serve as an interpreter between the digital environments currently used by brands, distributors, online stores and merchants. This facilitates the real-time transfer of information between the different players, providing them with a dashboard for decision-making and improving the economic performance of the sector.

At Yoo, we’re how important it is to guarantee data security with technology. We’ve developed YourEcom based on a Hazelcast grid. This form of data processing corresponds to an in-data grid model, which means that all data processed in YourEcom is distributed evenly among the nodes of a computer cluster, allowing for horizontal scaling of processing and available storage. Backups are also distributed among the nodes to protect against any possible failure on any particular individual node. Hazelcast provides the predictable and central scalability of applications through in-memory access to frequently used data and an elastically scalable data grid. These techniques reduce the database query load, improve speed, and are the prelude to using YourEcom’s secure Blockchain.

Likewise, in order to offer maximum technical guarantees, the development of the YourEcom recommendation engine runs under the same principles used by industry giants such as Google or AdSense. All searches performed at Yourecom are scheduled using ElasticSearch. Together with this search algorithm, we also use TensorFlow, the deep learning library recently released by Google for open-source use.

It should be noted that, thanks to this project, it’ll be possible to act directly on the uncertainty in the market, providing 100% accurate information in real time, generating great value both for the brand or distributor and for the online channels, automating processes that until now were manual and unmanageable due to the lack of real-time information. In addition, the platform will facilitate the growth of the business world, allowing small and medium-sized e-commerce companies to compete head-to-head with the big players in the market.

A solution involving digitalisation of the hotel’s common services (general information, sale of hotel and third-party products and services), room services (reception enquiries, WI-FI password requests, room service requests, room service requests, housekeeping requestall made available to the guest in their room, undateable, and with the ability to be programmed according to seasons, days, time slots, etc.

This solution is available in two service versions room tablet & room hotspot.

The hotspot solution combines all previous solutions using the customer’s device and enables access to information about the establishment, purchases of products and services, and payment thereof. It’s all based on a dedicated APP portal, defined for multi-device access, and on a mixed model of a small monthly cost plus a small revenue for each query/transaction made by the client.

With this model, we’re able to offer a solution capable of covering most of the needs posed by the market today without the entry barrier of a significant initial investment.

The digitalisation of restaurants is divided into two clearly differentiated solutions. On the one hand, a solution applicable to waiters, digitalising the entire order process, sending drink orders to the bar area and food orders to the kitchen. And on the other hand, the customer order process, either from dedicated devices (tablets at the tables), devices in common areas (bars, unattended areas) or even from the customers’ own devices (using an APP hotspot).

But how do you implement this type of process when you don’t have a point of sale as such, but instead are a point of sale service provider?

At Yoo, this is the challenge we faced with Ingenico. And while this was a challenge in itself, we also had to consider another significant undertaking. The data collection process had to be executed at a POS.

Digitisation and process innovation

With this challenge, we set to work and came up with what is now known as Survey APP. An APP that joins our Oneportal digital ecosystem with 5 front ends to make them functional within the technological limitations of a POS. This APP allows you to fill in a form from a POS and process information at the same time. All upgradable and running under comprehensive security standards.

Picking data processes in conjunction with data processing processes is essential to improve the point of sale performance. The entry of this type of technology into the market has benefited a range of sectors and translated into an increase in sales.

SurveyAPP also performs terminal and point of sale identification via API to facilitate greater control and ease when processing the data. The entire app is easy to use and fully customisable, meaning you can include brand logos and add value to the shopping experience chain.
